Alice Smeets

1987         Born in Eupen, Belgium
2005         Highschool graduation; goes to a language school in New Zealand;
studies photography in Liége; undertakes her first trip to Haiti; works
as an assistent to Phililp Jones Griffiths of Magnum Photos, New York
2008         Receives the UNICEF Photo of the Year Award for one of her works
from the series "Growing up in Haiti"
2009         Exhibits at the Museum Ludwig Forum for International Art, Aachen,
Germany (First important solo show)
2011         3rd price POYi for Multimedia Portfolio
2014         Documentary film AIDEPENDENCE with Frédéric Biegmann
        Lives and works in Eupen/B and Haiti
